n 1992 just out of high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska. Bossard got her start working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. At the time she was employed on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat, which was later transformed into a fishing tender. Bossard and Aritan are now married and are working together to claim their place in their respective industries. The two are proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor was opened in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) and Bossard's mother. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia after having two young children.
