Angelica

Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American model and actress who also serves as a TV hostess and comedian. The kidneys of her did not heal after she developed a septic infection and suffered multiple organ failure. Peritoneal dialysis, and then hemolysis was her new norm. After spending 80 consecutive days in the hospital her condition changed from close to death, and then a lengthy recovering road. After one year and a half of dialysis Angelica was ready to undergo the largest surgery in her life: a kidney transplant. The donor kidney would come from only her mom. Angelica, along with her mom underwent successful kidney transplantation on the 13th of September, 2013 at two incredible hospitals close to one another - Emory University Hospital & Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston.
